Season 3 ended abruptly, so season 4 is going to be stretched out a bit. There will be less comics per month, but hopefully more months! Check out the new comics on the June 2010 page. Enjoy!

December 30, 2009 - Update 3.6!

Not a lot of updates have been made in a while, but now comes the start of a big one! It's beginning of the long road to making Zachary Hayes dot com more professional. Although the original intension was to have this site for fun, it was no secret that I'd be using it in my future profession and it is time that I start making it more presentable. For example, I may want to give my business card to someone in the film industry who I run into and I want them to see a site that represents my ability to film.

So far the only huge change is that I'm switching the Blog link to my blogger, The Reel World of Zachary Hayes. I've had a big problem with keeping my blog updated and focus, so this blog will have one main focus and is far easier to update. You can still access my old Blog at the same url or through the index. When I want to say something unrelated to film, I'll put it in the News instead.

Of course, Hysteria Syndrome will continue as usual. There are no Decemeber comics but hopefully there will be many in January. I would never get rid of my webcomic! More updates coming soon.

November 25, 2009 - Toons

Hysteria Syndrome is in the 1044th issue of Toons, a weekly free comic strip publication that you can find just about anywhere if you live in Ames or in the story county area. Pick up a copy and look for the comic in the "Reader's Cartoons" page. If you missed it, don't worry because there is a good chance that will be able to find Hysteria Syndrome in Toons again. Check out their website to subscribe. Don't forget, new Hysteria Syndrome comics come out all the time and you can find them all here!

October 9, 2009 - Pandemic Week!

Come celebrate diseases with us on Pandemic week! For the next week, Hysteria Syndrome comics will all be making light of serious diseases. Check it out here and be careful, you might catch the hysteria syndrome. Pandemic Week ends on Zachary Hayes Day.

October 6, 2009 - It's Zachary's Birthday!

Don't forget to wish Zachary a happy birthday because today he turns 19. His birthday party is October 10th and he isn't sending out invitations so contact him for information. If you don't know how to contact him, don't bother, you probably shouldn't be going anyway.

Also, Zachary Hayes Day 2009 is October 16th again. This year is biggerer, gayerer and Adam's applierer than every before! You'll be able to play the Rise to Fame beta and the official trailer will be released! Rise to Fame is the third installment of the Zachary Hayes video game series. The release date is still unknown.

September 8, 2009 - "Celebrating a Century" Film Contest Winner

The following message was on the ICLU website.

"The wait is over! After receiving four entries from various Iowa credit unions, the Iowa Credit Union League is pleased to announce Affinity Credit Union is the winner of the "Celebrating a Century" Video Challenge.

The videos highlighted why credit unions are important and helped to generate excitement for the 2009 Convention and the 100 year celebration of credit unions.

We would like to thank the four credit unions that took the time to submit videos and helped us promote this unique 100 year celebration. We would also like to thank the judges, who had the difficult task of selecting the best video: Will Wille, Illinois Credit Union League, Kristina Wright, Minnesota Credit Union Network, and Halley Hayden, Missouri Credit Union Association.

The winning video "Affinity Credit Union: The Tour" won the grand prize of a year subscription to CPDOnline. All other entries received a free Robbery: Actions, Reactions, and Coping Skills Training on Demand from CUNA Center for Professional Development (CPD).

You can view all of our entries on the ICUL YouTube Channel. The videos will also be showcased at the Opening Reception during the 2009 Convention."

This of course means that Zachary Hayes' short film, The Tour, which he submitted to the film competition won! This is the first official film competition that Zachary has submitted to and he won it! A great success, but what's the next step from here?

August 7, 2009 - Back to the Drawing Board

The big question this summer has been whether or not Hysteria Syndrome would return for a third season. Today it was publically announced via facebook status that it indeed would! The original problem was that after graduating high school, Zachary lost access to the proper programs needed to create the web comic. Although Hysteria Syndrome will no longer be published in the Spotlight Newspaper, there will be frequent online comics being posted on the Hysteria Syndrome pages starting in September. This is the earliest the season has started yet. Season one began in January of 2008 and season two started in October of that same year. Both seasons ended in May.

As for whether there will be anything different about this years Hysteria Syndrome 'style', it is still unknown. Jokes are already being written and Zachary will start making them mid-August so that he can start the season off with a bang!

At the end of each month, the previous month's comics will be posted on Zachary's facebook to promote the comic but, because Zachary wants people to have a reason to check the actual Hysteria Syndrome site, only comics from the previous month will be shown on facebook. That way anyone who sees a comic on facebook and deciedes to check the site for more will have something new to look at.

More information will be posted when gathered.

May 21, 2009 - Season's End Again

It's the end of Hysteria Syndrome second season :( but don't worry, season three will be here sooner than you think! Be looking forward to new comics by the end of the summer, and while you wait you can always look over the old comics.

May 19, 2009 - Vaudeville Films

This summer, Vaudeville Films will start making short indie movies in the Des Moines area and they're looking for anyone interested in helping out. Vaudeville Films is a production company founded by Abby LeBlanc and Zachary Hayes and has made a few short films thus far but would like to make as many as possible over the summer to add to their experience. If you're interested in the film industry and looking for experience and something fun to do over the summer and you live in Iowa you can join us. Contact either Zachary Hayes or Abby LeBlanc or email them.

Zachary Hayes is on prom court to be King at the Valley Prom. Vote for him tomorrow if you are a Valley Senior and join the facebook group to show your support. A promo video will be released tonight. Thank you for your support, results will be revealed as of Saturday during prom.

April 30, 2009 - 'Rise to Fame' Announced

Zachary Hayes the Video Game 3: Rise to Fame is already going into production. Zachary says, "After the first two games, I'm ready to bring the story together before the wrong people get offended or I get expelled. I realized that myself and Matt James are the only ones who understand the plot and where it's going and until I finish the series, anyone will play the game and think characters like Hedges are potrayed poorly. I'll feel guilty about it until I finish the series right." The plot for Rise to Fame is already half-written. It's rumored that it may be shorter than the previous games but the plot is thicker, as are the characters. Nothing else can be revealed but there will be a trailer coming out shortly.

April 22, 2009 - Epic Showdown

As a part of Mrs. Devries' flash project, Zachary Hayes and a group of 4 others made an animation which will be featured as a Hysteria Syndrome animation because the character Frobama (voiced by Zachary Hayes) was drawn in Hysteria Syndrome art style and many characters including Frobama, Devries and the Spartans were drawn by Zachary. April 15, 2009 - Iowa School Climate Survey

The Iowa Pride Network is administering the 2008-2009 School Climate Survey. Students attending school in Iowa are encouraged to take this survey to help give perspective on how safe Iowa schools are. April 6, 2009 - Gay Birthday

It's Zachary Hayes' third gay birthday. He's been out of the closet for three years and what a journey it's been for him. How lucky it is that he would grow up in such an accepting city. Thanks especially to Ryan and Randy. Nobody in Zach's life has any clue who they are, but Zachary remembers them being a large part in his coming out.

April 2, 2009 - Script Frenzy

April is Script Frenzy Month. The object is to write a script (maybe 100 pages at least) by the end of the month. You can share your work at www.scriptfrenzy.org and be sure to check Zachary Hayes' progress out

March 12, 2009 - Update 3.5!

We're in the process of releasing Update 3.5 but it may not be completed until after spring break. During spring break the current changes will be under a process of testing before they are edited and made official in a week or two. Other updates include a search bar which is still being worked on and ad space. Don't worry, I'd never put ads that contain bad content so feel free to click them. When there is time, we will be updating banners and such.

March 10, 2009 - Spotlight is Looking for a New Comic Person

Now that Zachary is graduating, the Valley Spotlight is in need of a some one new to make their comics. Hysteria Syndrome will no longer be in the Spotlight after this year. If you will attend Valley High School the 2009-2010 year then you could be qualified! All you need to do is submit samples of comics to admin@zacharyhayes.com. Your comic will need a name (for example Hysteria Syndrome, Cyanide and Happiness, Peanuts) and a unique style of art, which can be simple. You have a better chance if you stick with a school theme which particularly makes fun of Valley! Send them in and Zachary will judge, all comics submitted will be featured on the Hysteria Syndrome page and the winner will be in the last Spotlight of the year!

February 5, 2009 - Hysteria Syndrome Month

In honor of the first anniversary of Hysteria Syndrome, this month will be dedicated to celebrating the webcomic up to its birthday on February 20th. Check out the Hysteria Syndrome February page for new comics and more hysteria than ever! Also, Mr. B, the teacher in charge of Spotlight newspaper has entered Hysteria Syndrome comics to a newspaper contest and hopefuly it will win a few rewards.

January 5, 2009 - Upcoming Holiday!

The great Zachary Hayes holiday of 'January Fifteeth or Something' is only ten days away! Be sure to celebrate the second anniversary of Zachary Hayes dot com by speading the word. Advertise this site when ever possible and however possible. Wear golden beaded necklaces and related clothing. The holidays aren't over yet!

December 16, 2008 - Tis' the Season

Winter is here again which means Zachary is more likely inside with nothing to do but site updates. With Christmas and New Years around the bend, who knows what could come by January 15th, the second anniversary of Zachary Hayes dot com. Version 4? Probably not. Hopefully something close. Be sure to return for such updates!

November 4, 2008 - Getting Animated

Coming soon there will be the first of a series of Hysteria Syndrome flash animations. They will be published on completion to the video page and Hysteria Syndrome homepage (also coming soon to replace the archive). The animations will be made using flash, the first will be a lesson on optimism with voices by Matt James and Zachary Hayes. Stay tuned!

November 4, 2008 - Vote Already!

Everybody remember to get out and vote (for Obama!). There may be thousands and millions of people voting (for Obama) but your vote (for Obama) still counts towards the winning candidate (aka Obama). October 4, 2008 - Pride is Here! Pride is Queer!

After months of anticipation, Pride weekend is finally here! Originally scheduled in early June, Pride was supposed to be the highlight of everyone gay man's summer. Unfortunetly it was postponed due to the high floods in Des Moines. Coicidence or is god pissed? Either way, Pride is now October 4th and 5th and may have it's benefits. For example, Zachary Hayes has more and better friends now than he did in June and his birthday is the day after the parade. This did, however, cancel a lot of the Straight for a Month planned shootings and whether they will continue is still undetermained. Happy Pride! Keep it Gay!

October 4th - Street part in East Village at 6pm.
October 5th - Downtown parade at 1pm.

October 3, 2008 - Second Annual Zachary Hayes Day

The sixteenth will be the second annual Zachary Hayes Day. Last year, fans wore t-shirts saying stuff like "Zachary Hayes Day", promoting his website, and the 2007 slogan which was "Cause Zach deserves a day too" or "Celebrate me [Zachary Hayes]!". This year even more is planned. Fans are expected to wear Zachary Hayes t-shirts of some kind and promote our 2008 slogan "Bigger, Gayer, Adam's Appleier". Also, order the 'Zachary-Hayes-Special', a smoothy at Tiger Perks. If they don't know what that is, explain that it's a smoothy with all the fruits in it. Fruity! It's rumored that there will be a Hysteria-Syndrome-styled cake as well!!! Don't forget this awesome day!

September 23, 2008 - Future Filmmakers of the Future WebPage

A new webpage is now online to promote Zachary Hayes' school sponsored club, The Future Filmmakers of the Future, an independent film production group of 20+ Valley students dedicated to the production of short films and movies. The new page can be used to find FFF films, information on projects and member profiles. They also have a YouTube.

September 22, 2008 - Zachary is BACK!

It's September 22nd, and that means the first day of fall and the return of Zachary Hayes dot com! New updates, new videos, comics, blogs, new everything! Starting today you will see this site being updated regularly because we're back in season. A new Fan Art page is up for anyone wishing to submit their own Zachary Hayes related art. It can be any shape or form of visual art, we just need a picture or scan of it. May 23, 2008 - Season's End :(

With school coming to an end, so shall the constant day-by-day updates of this site. It is almost impossible for Zachary to work on his site from home because of his slow crappy XPS Dell, and it is very impossible for him to make his Hysteria Syndrome comics. So until fall you will see very little updates, blogs and news. Don't worry! Zachary is still working hard, making videos and he will have a lot of new stuff to come!

April 17, 2008 - Zachary Hayes the Video Game 2 announced

Zachary Hayes the Video Game 2, sequal to Zachary Hayes the Video Game: Poole of Blood, has been announced. A release date has not been set, but so far it appears that you'll have the option to choose between playing as two characters and it will not take place at Valley High School. Also, the secret webpage following Poole of Blood has been opened and content is being added.

April 3, 2008 - La-Di-Da-Palooza Party

Tomorrow is the first day in the tour of La-Di-Da-Palooza! To celebrate I am having a party at 5pm. Everyone is invited! It's not going to be like a birthday party or high school party or graduation party type event, it's really more of a convention. You can meet the crew including Samantha Arneson, Brandon Lem, Vanessa Torres and of course Zachary Hayes. There will of course be food! Activities include Rock Band and LDDP music demos. There will be a short rehearsal for the actually event later that night. You have to RSVP to find out where this event will be! February 22, 2008 - The Zachary Hayes Show

The Pilot Episode of "The Zachary Hayes Show" will air today at 5pm. The purpose of having a pilot is to show Stickam.com that "The Zachary Hayes Show" is worthy of becoming an official online live show on Stickam. The pilot episode will be recorded as a preview and can be viewed anytime on the Zach's Stickam and to watch it live at five, go directly to the page, Zachary Hayes Show. February 11, 2008 - Hysteria Syndrome

An entirely new concept has just been added to Zachary Hayes dot com. Online comics. Aspired by explosm's Cyanide and Happiness, Zachary will now be posting his own semi-daily comic called Hysteria Syndrome. With his own expert art skills and witty humor, Zach will have a new comic up every few days because he does not have the man power or physical strength to make one every single day. They may not be all that funny, but someday they will... hopefully. Anyone who wishes to submit their own comic OR comic idea to be published on the Hysteria Syndrome page is welcome to send their comics to hysteriasyndrome@zacharyhayes.com and the odds are it will be posted. Please obey copy right laws. Comics will be sorted on pages by month which means several comics will be on one page, it is too much work to give them their own page when you only know basic web building skills. Enjoy!

January 28, 2008 - Happy Gay Valentines Day!

For the month of February, up till Valentines Day, Zachary Hayes dot com will be pinker, prettier and heartier than ever! Now that this site is being run off a template it is easier to make every page match, so on holidays and special events you will see a whole new Zachary Hayes dot com with a holiday theme layout and exclusives! For Valentines Day the theme is "Happy Gay Valentines Day!" and you get an exclusive new, limited edition HTML Code on the Media page!

January 23, 2008 - Update 3.0!

Zachary Hayes dot com has been upgraded to version 3.0! The old layout is crap and outdated. Now Zachary Hayes dot com is running with the use of DIV tags to keep it organized and consistent along with the use of templates so every page has the exact same layout. January 9, 2008 - Zachary Hayes the Video Game: Poole of Blood released!

The first Zachary Hayes video game, Poole of Blood, was just released and is downloadable on the media page. The video game stars Zach and takes place during a regular day at school. It is something of a mixture between Halo, Guitar Hero, Metal Gear Solid, World of Warcraft and a few other game references. The game is only being tested so submit any problems you have to admin@zacharyhayes.com so we can try to fix them. Zachary Hayes the Video Game requires and updated version of Power Point, some may experience an inability to click action buttons, this problem is still being worked on. Winning the video game will reveal a great secret.

January 7, 2008 -Late Late Late

I know people are getting a little upset with how late everything at ZacharyHayes.com is. I've yet to award the best fan site, I didn't release my video game on time and I already know Zachary Hayes the Movie 2 will be a few weeks late. Right now I am working on the Valley High School musical. It's the first movie that I'm making which will be shown at a film festival if I get it done which means I need to have it done before anything else. That is why I am working so hard on that and everything else is turning up late. Don't worry, I'll get everything done and released eventually. Have some patients. Thank you.

December 5, 2007 - Zachary Hayes the Movie 2

A sequel to Zachary Hayes the Movie (April 2007) will be released January 2008. Zachary Hayes the Movie 2 will be a mix between sequel and prequel to Zachary Hayes the Movie and begin directly after the first movie. Sam Sanchez will once again play himself. A new character named McSexy (based off SuperBad's McLovan) will be introduced as Sam's partner in the killing of Zachary Hayes. It is yet to be announced whether or not Samantha Arneson will play as one of the Unicorns in the movie (based off Charlie Goes to Candy Mountain). Like the first movie, Zachary Hayes the Movie 2 will parody movies such as The Prestige, DaVinci Code, Spider-man, Silence of the Lambs and a few others. Recording of the movie has already began. Be sure to watch the Trailer. A full length trailer will be released as soon as recording is finished and the movie itself will be in the Videos page where you can both watch and download it.

December 5, 2007 - Zachary Hayes the Video Game

Zachary Hayes the Video Game is scheduled to be released in mid-December. It will be downloadable from the Media page and can be played on Power point only. In this video game you play as Zachary Hayes and go through his typical day as a student at Valley High School. People such as Shawn Johnson and Dr. Poole will be end-of-level "bosses" which you can kill in a variety of ways. Because it's built with Power Point, the game is all about choice. Samantha Arneson plays as Zach's sidekick and helps Zach through his day at school. See the "Zachary Hayes the Video Game Commercial" for a visual of what the video game may be like.

November 13, 2007 - "Best Fan Site Wins Big Bucks" Contest

October 31, 2007 - Help Zach Go To College

The new Zach Hayes blockbuster, Angel's Advocate (starring Vanessa Torres, Zachary Hayes and Adam Torres), is now playing on Zacharyhayes.com Videos. You can watch it here or download it! Also check out the teaser trailer and bloopers are coming soon all on YouTube.

May 19, 2007 - Zachary Hayes the Movie on Zacharyhayes.com

After a premier onto YouTube.com about 2 weeks ago, Zachary Hayes the Movie is now broadcasts on Zacharyhayes.com! This film, co-starring Sam Sanchez, is an ironic twist on a villain (based off Jigsaw from the Saw series) has kidnapped Zach because he doesn't like Zach's videos on youtube and he thinks zacharyhayes.com is stupid. Zach is assisted by a comical character named Z (based of V from V for Vendetta). This movie has references to many of Zach's videos from his recreation of the Numa Numa dance to the Chameleon Boy music video as well as references to many blockbuster movies. A whopping 12 minutes long, Zachary Hayes the Movie had to be cut into 2 parts so it could be uploaded onto YouTube but Zacharyhayes.com presents the movie as it's original full length version and is downloadable right off the Video page. As for having a sequel, that is to be determined.

March 3, 2007 - Update 2.01!

Update 2.0 is finally here! This update jumpstart's Zachary Hayes dot com with a new layout, more organized pages and more! Because the layout is new there are some bugs to be worked out but I suspect it to be very successful and easier to arranged.

February 9, 2007 - Update 1.02!

I have been pissed at Dreamweaver because of the large gaps of white space that appear at the bottom of every page. But I just solved the problem when I changed the text style and then it just went away! No thanks to Tyler (Mr. ExBoyFriendWebDesignExpert) who gave me "advice". JK he's cool. Anyway the new update fixes those spaces and adds a cool fun little Valentines greeting! Yay! Other stuff is updated as well such as font and space issues for bullshit computers with "low" resolution.

January 20, 2007 - Chameleon Boy Music Video.

A lot of people have seen my music video on YouTube but there was something not right about it. It was too personal. I didn't want people to think it was me behind the mask, but simply a character that I play. So I edited the video and made it better. Unfortunately the new video was too much for YouTube to handle, so I couldn't put it on the web. Now I am able to put it on a separate page that is linked to the Media page. Click here to go directly to my new version of Chameleon Boy. Fair warning, the video is large and takes 30 seconds or so to load depending on your internet, the video runs directly off the browser using Quick Time.

January 15, 2007 - NOW ONLINE!

Zachary Hayes dot com is now online! Although it is not done it is to be online by January 15th. There are many things still to be added including media, blogs and much more. Some stuff is yet to be fixed because dreamweaver is being evil. I just hope Yahoo Hosts is easy to use because so far they have been fine. I hope you all enjoy!

January 12, 2007 - Zach got his braces off!

After 3 or so years of having braces, Zach finally got his braces OFF! My teeth used to have large gap spaces between them but now my teeth are so perfect. It only took 5 minutes for them to yank the metal from my face but then an hour of x-rays, scrapping off glue still on my teeth and molding a temporary retainer. I have to wear a temporary retainer until I can get an official one. I like it cause it is clear and you can't tell I'm wearing it! So I can still show off my B-E-A-U-T-ful teeth. As soon as I got my braces off I hate caramel! I've not had any since I got my braces on.

January 1, 2007 - Zacharyhayes.com not online on time?

Zacharyhayes.com was supposed to launch onto the internet by January 1st but because of difficulty is yet to be online. Built by Zach Hayes (i.e. me) using Dreamweaver 8, zacharyhayes.com is not yet live online but will soon be open to all viewers. Construction began on December 25th, 2006 after a month's worth of brain storming. The "Under Construction" page was taken down a few weeks before the sites launch so files could be uploaded to Yahoo's web host. The site was not launched on time because of difficulty with the layout. More information is presented in the blog entry titled "Construction of Zachary Hayes dot com".
